Chip Off The Old Block by kevinroberts Chip Off The Old Block by kevinroberts
Done in 1992 as a Fathers Day gift. Interesting story behind this one. The boy Zach was born with a disability and had been in physical therapy his entire life. After years of work he had just reached the point where he could stand if he had something to hold onto. His Dad was in the rock band Poison so we knew we wanted something with a rock & roll style. A shot of Zach in his first leather jacket seemed perfect, and what better to hang on to than Mom's legs! Ummm, Mom is hot. Zach went on to play soccer in high school but at the time this photo represented a milestone and represented the hope that Zach could have a healthy and happy life. So before someone goes off the deep end and becomes deeply offended as some have been, I hope they'll read this. Also, a sense of humor is helpful.

Makes me wish my nephew could smile like that without having done something annoying. LOL!

Great story to go with the photo. I'm sure that was a wonderful gift and well appreciated. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for commenting! Of all my photos over the years I think this one has caused more people to laugh out loud than any other. Conversely, it's been asked to be removed twice from shows. One reason I think of censors as 'killjoys' :mwahaha:

You should just tell the censors, "What is more natural than a photo of a loving mother and child?" Maybe that would shut them up, or at least give them some food for thought.

I'm really glad you shared the story. It gives the picture that extra bit of context.

Great smile on the kid.

Thanks! It's a good story, especially once I tell it someone that thinks I'm just posing little kids with strippers or something.

aaw. The picture plus the story behind are so adorable! The cutest smile ever :) Beside...also without the story behind there is nothing to be offended with, in my opinion. A beautiful woman and a happy child :) It seems he was having fun. Fine to hear he is doing fine now. Unnecessaryto say, the shot is technically perfect. :)
